How To Piss Off Serious Network Marketing Prospects...
If you want to scare away your serious network marketing prospects gust approach them either in person online or over the phone and start pitching them your business opportunity, your products or your services. That's right. Approaching people and assuming they need to make more money or quit their dreary job and YOUR deal is "the way" and you'll get on the mad side of many, many people. If your thinking about or being taught to use reverse marketing techniques on other networkers... abandon that thought as well. The last thing your network marketing prospects want is another sales pitch. How Do I Know?Not only have I been on the receiving end of more than on desperate attempt by a frustrated marketer to generate leads and business. But, I've also been invited into to the *secret world* of what your home business prospects really think about you, your business and your sales pitches! Interesting story of how I got invited to this world too... but I'll save that for another article. I make my contact information available on every piece of content I have out on the internet. You never know when a prospect will want to reach out an connect with you. I take the responsibility of some ignorant marketers with some lame script calling me to pitch their deal. I'd like to flatter myself and say they see me as a potential asset to their team but I would be giving them too much credit. When You Contact A Potential Network Marketing Prospect Be Prepared To Suffer Their Wrath!The type of person who commits the following sales "faux pas" then you've probably felt the sting already: - Calling strangers- Contacting anyone for the sole purpose of assessing their interest in your business or it's products.
- Posting generic/spam comments on social sites like www.myspce.com, www.facebook.com and BetterNetworker.com. Like, "Hi, welcome to the site. Since you're hear I can only assume you're a smart cookie, and smart people keep their business options open. Click here now to checkout our ground floor biz!!!" (here an example of what NOT to do when prospecting online
- Having advertisements that hype based or "fear of loss" driven.
Why This Doesn't work!Besides the fact that people love to buy but HATE being sold, feeling like just another number in your "numbers game" just plain hurts. When I got my first reverse marketing call. I thought I was doing this guy a favor by turning him down nicely. I even went as far to offer my help for him to set up his own marketing system to have interested network marketing prospects call him the same way mine work for him to call me. What I got back from him were excuses about how online network marketing was "impersonal" and just like calling cold market leads, and too complicated to implement for average people. Obviously this guy was ignorant to how the law of attraction works, or how online attraction network marketing works. He told me he was calling me because he was going to be in my area and wanted to know if I'd be interested in meeting with him... Without assuming I asked him what the purpose of the meeting would be and he replied it was to introduce me to see his business. I then asked the question I'm sure you don't want to get caught off guard with from one of your network marketing prospects, and here's the question: "That makes you think I would be interested in your business?" He was completely stumped because that wasn't ever a thought that crossed his mind before he picked up the phone. What You Could Do Instead...- Get to know your ideal prospect intimately. You should know your prospect needs, goals, desires and problems and make yourself available for them to seek you out.
- Go where your potential prospects are openly discussing the topic(s) you are have experience in or knowledge of and just help them get some solutions.
- Focus on building relationships with people first and foremost so they get to know, like and trust you. Show them you are safe to open up to then ask a lot of meaningful questions. They will tell you if what they are open to know, learning and buying!
By practicing this, you will increase your value to your network marketing prospects who will, in turn, have a strong desire to do business with you if for no other reason than the like and trust you and your leadership.
