Lead Collection: The Second Part Of Your Lead Generation blue Print.
From the Home Office of: Malika Duke July 1, 2008
Last week we discussed Lead Attraction; how to identify your target market and create valuable content about topics they are actively seeking on the Internet. This week we'll cover Lead Collection. Now that you know how to get your readers attention you've got to earn their permission to keep in touch.
This is a contact point where a reader or someone watching your video can "opt-in" to get your great content delivered to their email box by entering their name, email address and other contact info. OR
If you ask them (at the end of each of your blog posts) to leave a comment.
Now, I'm really excited about this one and here's why... It's even more subtle than an actual subscribe/ optin box!
In order to leave a comment on blogs you are required to reveal/identity yourself with your name, email address and sometimes even a website.
That means your content was helpful, fun to read, and worth the extra few minutes to warrant their interaction.
Comments are very good sign of the value you have given. And you also have permission to interact with whom ever posted the comment.
Lead collection is the way you can create, continue and deepen the relationship with your prospects.
It's like meeting someone at a party or networking event and exchanging contact info or business cards.
The tools you will need:
A blog and/or website with a subscriber optin box. Preferably both.
There are many options for you optin box, which is also tied into to email marketing campaigns (we'll cover that in Lead Seduction).
I created mine using Aweber and I an opt-in box on my blog as well. Other great options include Constant Contact and IContact.
For my blog quick and simple blog I used Blogger.com. What makes the difference between your potential prospect optin or not? Several reasons which primarily surround... yeah you guessed it, YOUR CONTENT!
Your articles, e-zines, blogs, boot camp, email, newsletters, ads, videos should be full of value that establish you as an industry leader in your niche.
The best way to do that is to be well educated, informed and most of all passionate about the topic of discussion. Easy, right? Right :-)
So go ahead and start brainstorming your content topics that will be of interest to your target market and you will get more and better quality potential prospects for your lead collection efforts.
Great places to start are social networks and forums which are niche focused for your target markets.
For example, if your are looking to build relationships with people who love to travel, you would search the Internet for travel forums.
You can even go to larger social sites like FaceBook.com or MySpace.com and create topic focused social group with in the network.
The fact that you created the group establishes you as a leader and when every someone joins our group they become part of your list which makes this a very powerful lead collection tool.
Let me tell you a quick story about how this works...
I joined a face book group started by a guy named Kevin Nations, "The Big Ticket Blue Print". I joined because I knew I could gain some valuable knowledge from Kevin, which I did.
He is very good at his craft!
Anyway, I read some of his post and I even went to his site, www.KevinNations.com where I found really great sales training.
I was impressed so I comment on one of his articles and received an email from his office with in a few days suggesting a consultation.
I gladly took him up on the offer because I wanted to pick his brain!
What I got out of that consultation was insight into the entire process for lead attraction, collection, seduction and selection which is what I'm sharing here with you.
If you set up your online networking lead generation system the same way you'll begin building a huge list.
